What is medical dermatology?

Dermatology refers to the study of skin. As well as providing expert aesthetic treatments, at EdenMed clinics we specialise in other related areas of expertise. These include the diagnosis and treatment of a whole range of medical skin cnditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, skin lumps and bumps and rashes.

What is important to understand is that these manifestations on your skin may not be 'just skin deep'. Often skin changes can indicate other internal medical conditions or imbalances. At our Aesthetics and Rejuvenation Clinics medical dermatology appointments are an hour long to allow plenty of time to discuss your needs. This also allows for a full medical survey, including your background medical history and a relevant examination. Many medical conditions, can show in the skin and this may be your primary concern. As Dr. Sam is experienced and qualified as a Physician (MRCP), Ophthalmic Surgeon ( MRCSEd) and General Practitioner (MRCGP), he is very well placed to safely assess your skin problem and consider the multitude of different possible diagnoses.
